Acceptable Use Policy

ShadiSunnah was built with a single purpose to help Muslim families find suitable marriage matches for their sons and daughters in a way that is honest, family led, and guided by Islamic values. Every feature on this Platform, every rule in this document, and every decision we make flows from that purpose.

This Acceptable Use Policy sets out, in specific and practical terms, what behaviour is and is not acceptable on ShadiSunnah. It is not a document of bureaucratic rules for its own sake. It exists because every family on this Platform is placing their trust and their family's honour in the process, and they deserve to know that every other family has agreed to the same standards.

By creating an account on ShadiSunnah, you have read and agreed to this Policy. It forms part of our Terms and Conditions and is legally binding.

1. The Spirit of This Platform

Before we get into specifics, it is worth stating plainly what ShadiSunnah is for and what it is not for.

ShadiSunnah is for families who are genuinely looking for a marriage match for their adult son or daughter. It is for parents, guardians, siblings, and close relatives who want to approach the process with care, honesty, and respect. It is for families who understand that the information on a profile represents a real person and a real family, and who treat it accordingly.

ShadiSunnah is not a casual browsing platform. It is not a social network. It is not a place for curiosity or entertainment. And it is absolutely not a place for deception, commercial activity, or exploitation of any kind.

Every action you take on this Platform should be guided by this purpose.

2. Your Profile and the Information You Submit

2.1 Accuracy is Non Negotiable

Everything you submit on this Platform, including every field of your registration form, every field of your profile, and every document you upload, must be truthful, accurate, and complete. There is no grey area here.

Name, age, and date of birth must be accurate. Adjusting someone's age, even by a year or two to appear more favourably in search results, is a violation of this Policy.

Educational qualifications must be genuine. If your son has a diploma, do not describe it as a degree. If your daughter studied for a qualification but did not complete it, say so honestly.

Professional information must be accurate. Job titles, industries, and income ranges must reflect reality. Exaggerating income or inflating a job title to appear more attractive is dishonest and is a serious breach of this Policy.

Marital history must be disclosed. If the Profile Subject has been married before, whether divorced or widowed, this must be stated clearly on the profile. Concealing a previous marriage is one of the most serious violations possible on a matrimonial platform and will result in immediate permanent account closure.

Photographs must be genuine, recent photographs of the Profile Subject. Submitting photographs of someone else, whether a sibling, a relative, or anyone else, is fraudulent and will result in immediate permanent account closure.

2.2 What Your Profile Must Not Contain

Regardless of how it is phrased or presented, the following content must never appear anywhere on your profile.

Your phone number, email address, WhatsApp number, or any other contact detail in any text field. Contact between families happens through our system, not through profile text.

Links to social media profiles, websites, YouTube channels, or any external platform.

Commercial advertising of any product, business, or service.

Inappropriate, sexually suggestive, or immodest images or language of any kind.

Photographs of anyone who is not the Profile Subject, including family group photographs where the Profile Subject appears alongside other people.

Offensive, discriminatory, sectarian, or otherwise inappropriate language about any nationality, ethnicity, religious group, or community.

Images taken from other matrimonial websites, social media accounts, or any other source without the permission of the person in the photograph.

3. How You Must Treat Other Families

3.1 Respect and Dignity at All Times

Every profile on ShadiSunnah represents a real family and a real person. Behind every photograph is someone's son or daughter. Behind every profile is a family that hopes and prays for a good outcome.

You must treat every family on this Platform with the same dignity and respect you would want shown to your own family. This is not just a legal requirement. It is a basic human and Islamic obligation.

In practical terms this means the following.

If you send a connection request and it is declined, accept that graciously and move on. Do not send another request to the same family. Do not attempt to find other ways to contact them.

If you accept a connection request and then decide after reviewing the profile that you are not interested, communicate that clearly, respectfully, and promptly. Leaving families waiting indefinitely for a response is unkind and inconsiderate.

In any communication that takes place following a connection, maintain appropriate standards of language, modesty, and respect at all times.

Do not mock, belittle, or make dismissive comments about any family's background, location, profession, or appearance, neither on the Platform nor anywhere else.

3.2 Harassment is Prohibited

Harassment in any form is strictly prohibited on ShadiSunnah. This includes sending repeated connection requests to a family that has already declined or has not responded. It includes sending messages that are aggressive, demanding, pressuring, or threatening in any way. It includes attempting to find and contact a family through means other than ShadiSunnah's connection system, for example by searching for them on social media, without their explicit consent. It includes contacting any family in a way that makes them feel unsafe, pressured, or uncomfortable.

Please be aware that under Section 20 of the Prevention of Electronic Crimes Act 2016 of Pakistan, sending threatening, harassing, or abusive electronic communications is a criminal offence punishable by up to one year of imprisonment and a fine. This law applies to messages sent through any electronic platform, including ours.

Any family that experiences harassment on this Platform should report it to us immediately.

3.3 Privacy of Other Families

When you are connected with another family on ShadiSunnah, you are given access to their profile photographs and profile details for one purpose only, which is to determine whether there is genuine mutual interest in exploring a matrimonial match.

You are absolutely prohibited from taking screenshots of any other family's photographs or profile information. You are prohibited from downloading, saving, or reproducing any other family's photographs. You are prohibited from sharing any other family's photographs, name, or personal details with anyone outside of the immediate family members involved in the matrimonial process. You are prohibited from posting any other family's information on social media, messaging groups, community forums, or anywhere else. You are prohibited from using any other family's information for any purpose other than the matrimonial process for which it was shared.

A violation of another family's privacy, and in particular the sharing of a young woman's photograph without consent, is one of the gravest possible violations on this Platform. It causes serious and lasting harm to real people and their families. It will result in immediate and permanent account closure. We will report such conduct to the Federal Investigation Agency Cybercrime Wing under the provisions of PECA 2016, and we will cooperate fully with any resulting investigation.

4. Financial Conduct

4.1 Asking for Money is Absolutely Prohibited

This deserves its own section because it is that important.

No genuine family seeking a matrimonial match has any reason, at any stage of the process, to ask another family for money. Not for travel expenses. Not for a visa application. Not for a medical emergency. Not for gifts. Not for any purpose at any time.

Any family that asks you for money through any channel is engaging in fraud. This is not ambiguous. There are no legitimate circumstances in which a family you have met through a matrimonial platform should be requesting a financial transfer before, during, or as part of the matrimonial process.

If any family asks you for money, stop all communication with them immediately. Do not send any money under any circumstances. Report the account to us immediately at support@shadisunnah.com. If money has already been sent, contact your bank immediately and report the matter to the FIA Cybercrime Wing at complaint.fia.gov.pk. If you are in the UK, report it to Action Fraud at www.actionfraud.police.uk.

Any account found to have solicited money from another family will be permanently closed and reported to law enforcement, and we will cooperate fully with any investigation.

4.2 Commercial Activity is Prohibited

ShadiSunnah is not a marketplace and it must not be used as one. The following commercial activities are strictly prohibited.

Promoting, advertising, or selling any product, service, or business to other families on the Platform. Soliciting donations or investments of any kind. Promoting or advertising other matrimonial platforms or services. Using contact information obtained through ShadiSunnah to make commercial approaches to any family through any channel.

5. Technical Conduct

5.1 Prohibited Technical Misuse

The following technical misuse is strictly prohibited on ShadiSunnah.

Attempting to scrape, crawl, or systematically extract data from the Platform using automated tools, bots, or scripts. Attempting to reverse engineer any part of the Platform's code, algorithm, or systems. Attempting to access any part of the Platform you are not authorised to access, including other users' accounts, admin areas, or server infrastructure. Uploading or transmitting any virus, malware, ransomware, trojan, or other malicious code. Attempting to overload, disrupt, or interfere with the Platform's performance or availability. Attempting to circumvent our security measures, identity verification process, IP rate limiting, or any other protective system. Creating multiple accounts to get around a ban, suspension, profile limit, or any other restriction.

Under Section 3 of PECA 2016, unauthorised access to any computer system or data is a criminal offence in Pakistan. Under Section 5, data interference, meaning damaging, degrading, or disrupting data or systems, is also a criminal offence. We will report any suspected technical misuse to the relevant authorities.

5.2 Identity and Verification

You must never submit a fraudulent, altered, expired, or otherwise invalid identity document. You must never submit someone else's identity document as your own. You must never attempt to verify an account using documents that do not belong to the registered account holder. Submission of fraudulent identity documents is a criminal offence under the Pakistan Penal Code and under PECA 2016, and we will report it without hesitation.

6. Content Submitted to ShadiSunnah

Any content you upload to ShadiSunnah, including photographs, profile text, and support messages, must comply with this Policy and with all applicable laws.

Content must not depict or describe anything illegal under the laws of Pakistan, the United Kingdom, the UAE, Saudi Arabia, or any other jurisdiction in which the Platform operates. Content must not constitute hate speech, incitement to violence, or discrimination on grounds of race, religion, nationality, gender, or any other characteristic. Content must not infringe the intellectual property rights of any third party, including uploading photographs or text that you do not have the right to use. Content must not contain personal data of third parties submitted without their consent.

We reserve the right to remove any content that violates this Policy at any time, without notice and without liability to you.

7. Conduct Towards ShadiSunnah Staff

Our support team works hard to help families and to keep this Platform safe. You must treat every member of our team with courtesy and respect at all times.

The following conduct is not acceptable under any circumstances. Abusive, threatening, or offensive language directed at any member of our team through any channel. Attempting to intimidate or bully staff into taking actions outside our policies. Submitting false or malicious reports with the intent to harm another family's account.

8. Consequences of Violations

The consequences of violating this Policy depend on the nature and severity of the violation. ShadiSunnah will use its judgment in determining the appropriate response in each case.

Minor violations such as a profile field containing a contact detail or a mildly inappropriate phrase may result in a request to amend the content, with no further action if resolved promptly and cooperatively.

Moderate violations such as sending multiple unwanted connection requests or submitting a profile with exaggerated qualifications will result in a formal written warning. A second violation of the same kind will result in account suspension.

Serious violations such as sharing another family's photographs without consent, uploading a fraudulent identity document, or creating multiple accounts after a ban will result in immediate and permanent account closure without refund.

Critical violations such as soliciting money from another family, submitting fraudulent documents with intent to deceive, creating a profile for a minor, or any conduct that may constitute a criminal offence under Pakistani law or the law of any applicable jurisdiction, will result in immediate permanent account closure, reporting to the Federal Investigation Agency and any other relevant law enforcement authority, and full cooperation with any resulting investigation.

9. Reporting Violations

If you witness or experience a violation of this Policy, please report it to us. You can do so by using the Report button on any profile, by emailing support@shadisunnah.com, or by submitting a support ticket at www.shadisunnah.com/support.

All reports are treated confidentially. The reported family will not be informed of who made the report. False or malicious reports made with the intent to harm another family's account without genuine cause are themselves a violation of this Policy and will be treated accordingly.
